What do you do?

We offer handcrafted furniture and décor through two divisions: local manufacture and curated Indonesian imports. Choose from ready-made pieces or tailor select designs to suit your space.

Can I customise a piece?

Yes. Many items can be customised in size, timber, finish, and hardware, or we can create a fully custom furniture or lighting piece.

Design & trade partners?

Yes. We work with architects, designers, retailers, and hospitality clients, with trade support and qualifying discounts.

Our Story

Melonwoods was founded in 2006 after supplying furniture for a hotel project in South Africa.

We began by importing from Indonesia, where family-run workshops produce exceptional craftsmanship passed down through generations.

We later expanded into local manufacturing to support the South African economy, shorten lead times, and diversify our range.

We also source décor locally where possible, supporting small businesses and makers.
